Kody has been tested for homozygousity and has never
produced a solid or red in over 10 breedings to solid colored mares. You cannot be homozygous for
the tobiano pinto gene if you have ever sired a solid, this is clearly stated in the APHA rules as well as by several universities DNA research departments.-
Some people claim their stallion is homozygous but the stallion has sired
solid foals. A 100% accurate DNA test is not available for the tobiano gene, only after testing and having sired over 10+ tobiano foals from solid color mares with all of them being tobiano colored can you claim to have a higher probability of beinga homozygous tobiano.
